Closing Terraria is pretty straightforward! If you're on PC, just hit 'Esc' to bring up the main menu, then click on 'Save and Exit' to save your game, and after that, you can close the window or use Alt+F4 to force close. On consoles or mobile, look for a similar 'Save and Exit' option in the game menu.

Just hit the power button, LOL. But seriously, always save your game first through the menu. Lost progress is the real boss fight in Terraria.
