Hey there! To deactivate your Xbox Live account, you’ll have to cancel your subscription and then potentially close your Microsoft account. First, go to the services & subscriptions page on the Microsoft website, sign in, and cancel your Xbox Live subscription. After that, if you want to close your Microsoft account, you can follow the steps on the Microsoft account closure page. Keep in mind closing your Microsoft account will affect other Microsoft services you might use.

Why deactivate? Just stop using it. Problem solved.

Had to deactivate mine last year. Just cancel the Xbox Live subscription through the services & subscriptions page on the Microsoft site. If you want to go the extra mile, you can close your entire Microsoft account too, but be aware that it affects all other services tied to it.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
