When there's a crisis event, Facebook's Safety Check feature kicks in. You'll get a notification asking if you're safe. Just click 'Yes, I'm Safe'.
Go to Crisis Response in your menu, find the event, and click 'I'm Safe.'
You'll need to wait for Facebook to activate Safety Check for a specific event. It doesn't work otherwise.
