The easiest way is to connect your Xbox 360 to the internet and it should prompt you to update automatically. If not, go to System Settings and select System Update.

Get it online, mate! The console will handle the rest. If you wanna do it via USB, download the update from the Xbox website, stick it on a USB drive, and plug it into your 360.
