Skills in Valheim level up as you use them, just like getting better at anything IRL! Swing that axe, shoot that bow, and you'll see your skills go up over time.

In Valheim, skills level up through usage. If you die, you lose some skill progress, so try not to meet your Viking end too often!

You gain skill experience by performing related actions. Chop trees to boost your Woodcutting skill, fight enemies to enhance your Weapon skills, and so on. Just do more of what you want to improve!
