Climbing ladders in GTA 4 is a piece of cake! Just walk up to the ladder and press the 'Enter' or 'F' key on your keyboard if you're playing on PC. If you're on a console, like Xbox or PlayStation, approach the ladder and press the 'Y' button (Xbox) or the 'Triangle' button (PlayStation). No acrobatics required, your character automatically starts climbing.

Walking up to the ladder and staring at it won't do the trick, you gotta press a button! For PC, smack that 'F' key. Console gang, it's 'Y' on Xbox or 'Triangle' on PlayStation. Easy peasy.
