I've had success with using a banana! Rub the scratched area with the inside of a banana, then wipe it off with a soft cloth. It sounds crazy, but it can work!
Don't waste your time. Just get the disc resurfaced professionally - it's the only reliable fix.
In my experience, using a disc repair kit works wonders. I picked one up online for a few bucks, and it saved my favorite game!
