Unfortunately, you can’t create a sun, but building a large sphere with glowstone will give you a similar effect.
Making a sun? Easy peasy. Stack those glowstones in a big ball and voilà, instant sun!
You can't make an actual sun, but you can simulate one by using a lot of glowstone or other light-emitting blocks in a spherical pattern. Light up your world, literally!
