In Stardew Valley, a silo stores feed for your animals. When you cut grass with your scythe on the farm, if you have a silo, it automatically turns into hay and gets stored there. You can then access this hay from your coop or barn's feeding bench to feed your animals. Super handy for keeping your animals fed without buying hay!

just build it and forget it. fills up when you cut grass, empties when you feed animals. easy.

Honestly, didn't bother with a silo for ages and my poor chickens starved more than I'd like to admit. Build it early, thank me later. It's basically automatic feed storage and makes life so much easier.

Silos are your best friend during winter in Stardew Valley. Without grass to cut, your animals still need to eat. The silo lets you stock up on hay during other seasons. Just make sure you build one before winter hits, or you'll be spending a lot of gold on hay!
