How does Apex Legends run on a regular PS4?
It runs perfectly fine. Sure, you won't get PS5-level graphics or speed, but for a regular PS4, Apex Legends performs better than a lot of other battle royales. Smooth gameplay most of the time!

Honestly, could be better. You'll notice some lag and frame drops here and there, especially during heavy action. But it's free, so no biggie.
