You need to craft a cultivator first, then prep the soil before planting seeds. Carrots first, then turnips, maybe some barley if you get fancy.

In Valheim, farming starts with getting some cultivator from the forge. Then, look for tilled soil to plant seeds such as carrots and turnips. Rain and time do the rest!

Put simply: get cultivator, till soil, plant seeds like carrots or turnips, then wait. Just don鈥檛 expect instant results!

Just get the cultivator, plant seeds on cultivated soil and wait. Easy peasy!

I started farming by crafting a cultivator and planting seeds on cultivated soil. My carrot and turnip crops flourished!
