Skill drain in Valheim happens when you die. You'll lose some experience points in your current skills, but you'll never lose skill ranks. So, dying might set you back a bit, but it won't make you forget how to wield an axe like a pro!

When you die in Valheim, you lose a percentage of your experience points in each skill. It's a bit like the game saying, 'Hey, remember to dodge next time!'

Skill drain in Valheim is a minor setback and not a major penalty. You just lose some XP in your skills on death.

Trust me, I've faced the bite of the Deathsquito more times than I'd like to admit. Dying in Valheim means some of your skill XP gets drained, but you won't drop skill levels.
