There are around five main arcs in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, ranging from 10 to 15 episodes each. The original series isn't as neatly divided.

The original Fullmetal Alchemist has about 51 episodes split into story arcs that aren't as clearly defined as in Brotherhood. Brotherhood, however, has five main arcs: the Introduction (episodes 1-14), Central City (episodes 15-26), Briggs (episodes 27-39), and the Promised Day/Final battle (episodes 40-64). So, the lengths vary a bit!

From what I remember, Brotherhood has more defined arcs, while the 2003 series has a more mixed flow of events. Each arc in Brotherhood is about 10-15 episodes.

OG Fullmetal Alchemist is kinda all over the place with its story arcs, but Brotherhood is more structured with 5 main arcs. Each is around 10-15 episodes.

Realistically, you'll find that Fullmetal Alchemist arcs blur between around 10-15 episodes each. Bring popcorn!
