From my experience, Xbox Live downtimes usually get resolved within a day. The Xbox team is pretty quick with fixes.

It can be down anywhere from a couple hours to a full day, but Xbox is usually pretty quick to resolve issues.

Depends. Sometimes just minutes, other times hours. They'll fix it when they fix it.
