Just to be clear, the Akatsuki doesn't make much of an appearance in Boruto. They're a thing of the past!
In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, there aren't any active Akatsuki members like in the original series. The new generation faces different threats instead!
As someone who's watched both Naruto and Boruto, I can confirm the Akatsuki isn't really a focus anymore in Boruto.
