Honestly, a satisfying closure would have Seiya and Athena finally ending the cycle of war with the gods peacefully. A truce with some divine intervention, perhaps?
As a fan, I'd say the perfect ending involved Seiya getting stronger than ever and the Saints forging an unbreakable alliance with the gods, setting up some future adventures.
