Adding friends in GTA 5 is pretty straightforward! Just hit the 'Home' button on your keyboard to bring up the Social Club overlay while you're in the game. Then, go to the 'Social' tab, find the 'Find Player' option, and type your friend's Social Club nickname. After that, just send them a friend request and voila! You're ready to cause some chaos together in Los Santos.
I tried adding friends in-game, but honestly, it's easier to just log into the Rockstar Social Club website directly and do it there. Sometimes the in-game interface is a bit clunky.
Just text your friend to add you instead. Less hassle.
