Riot, pls, just let us add recent players directly! But until they do, just jot down those usernames and add them manually through the social tab. A little old school, but it works.
Kinda awkward that Valorant doesn't easily let you add recent players, isn't it? Makes you miss the days when games were more social-friendly. Oh well, scribbling down usernames it is!
Unfortunately, Valorant doesn't have a built-in feature to directly add recent players from your last game. What you can do, though, is remember their username and then search for it manually in the game's friend search feature in the social tab. It's a bit of a workaround, but it gets the job done!
