Bastille with Vauban can also be a lifesaver. It lifts enemies in the air, taking them out of the fight, so they can't harm the defense target.

Try using Limbo for defense missions. His Cataclysm ability puts the objective in the Rift, making it invulnerable. Just be ready for some hate from your teammates!
