For a classic setup, I go for a 'hammer and anvil' approach. Set up your sturdy infantry in the center to hold the line, with cavalry or other fast units on the flanks to sweep in and hit the enemy from the sides. Don't forget to protect your ranged units behind the infantry line!

Just make a single big line, charge, and pray. Sometimes chaos works!

I've had success placing my artillery at the back with a meat shield of infantry up front. Flanking units on the sides can then swoop in and do the damage. Worked wonders for me in my last campaign!

Pro tip: Always group similar units together using the Ctrl+number key shortcuts. This makes managing your formation during battle ten times easier!
