To bait a hook in Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch, first make sure you have some bait in your inventory. You get bait by crafting it or buying it from the fishing shop. Then, open your inventory, select the bait, and with the bait selected, press 'A' on the rod in your inventory. Voil脿, your rod is ready for some serious fishing!

Guys, remember you need at least the fiberglass rod to attach bait. Can't do that with the basic one you start with!
