To become a detective in BitLife, start by doing well in school, go to college, and major in Criminal Justice. Then apply for a job as a Police Officer and work hard until you're promoted to Detective!

Skip college, apply directly for a Police Officer position after high school, and work your way up. Took me just a few in-game years to get promoted to detective this way.
