You can't actually break items down in Valheim, but you can destroy them by throwing them in the water or using a trash mod!

There isn't a way to break items down yet, but hope is not lost! You can always smash old stuff with a hammer and get some resources back.

The easiest way is to just toss unwanted items in the ocean. Nature's trash can!

I've been playing Valheim for hundreds of hours, and while you can't break down items, I recommend making a dedicated trash pile or simply dropping them in water.

Unfortunately, Valheim doesn't currently allow item breakdown. Best bet is to toss them or use a mod.
