Spam your units! Seriously, just throw as many as you can at those shields. Quantity over quality sometimes works wonders.
From my experience, timing is everything. Wait for the right moment when the enemy isn't reinforcing their shield and hit them hard. It works every time for me!
To break shields in Mob Control, just deploy a large number of units quickly! They can overwhelm the shield and bring it down.
