Just open the main menu, go to the community screen, and click on the character you want to switch to!
Switching characters in State of Decay 2 is easy! Go to your base, open the community tab, and select the survivor you want to be.
When you're at your base or an outpost, press 'T' to access the community tab and choose the survivor you want to play.
Guys, just hit 'Up' on the D-pad when you're in your base, then select the character you want. Easy peasy.
