To change your name in 8 Ball Pool, go to the game settings, click on 'Edit Profile', and then you can change your name if you're connected through Miniclip or Facebook.

Just connect your game to Facebook and change your name on Facebook. Your 8 Ball Pool name will update automatically!

I’ve done this before: open the game, head to the settings, and hit 'Edit Profile'. You'll see the option to change your name if you're using a Miniclip or Facebook account.

Seriously, just change it on Facebook and reconnect. Boom, name changed.

You can't change your name if you registered with a Miniclip ID and haven't linked it to Facebook, so tough luck there.
