I changed mine by grabbing a Rename Card in the shop. Once you have the card, just pop it from your inventory and enter your new name!

You need a Rename Card! Go to the in-game shop, purchase a Rename Card, and then use it from your inventory. Easy peasy!

I've done this a bunch of times. Just get the Rename Card from the shop, go to your inventory, and activate it. Boom! New name.
