To change split screen orientation in Fortnite, press the options/menu button on Player 2's controller and navigate to settings. Look for the 'Split Screen' option and switch it from vertical to horizontal or vice versa.

Literally just go to the in-game settings on Player 2's controller and switch the split screen to your preferred orientation. Easy peasy!

Personal experience here: Pressing the options button on the second controller, heading into settings, and changing the split screen layout worked perfectly for me!
