Changing your pet in Stardew Valley isn't something you can do in the middle of a game. You're asked to choose between a cat or a dog at the start when you're creating your farm. If you wanna swap, the real trick is to start a new game or edit your save file, but be careful, as messing with game files can lead to unexpected bugs or glitches.

Unfortunately, you can't swap your furry friend on a whim in Stardew Valley. Once you pick your pet, you're pretty much stuck with your choice unless you're willing to dive into the game's save files (not recommended for the faint of heart) or you start over.

Hot take: Why would you wanna change your pet anyway? They're all adorable! Just another reason to replay the game and experience everything with a new companion.

If you're a Stardew Valley player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
