I had the same issue. I used a mixture of water and a tiny bit of dish soap on a soft cloth, then dried it with a microfiber towel. Worked like a charm!

Honestly, skip the homemade remedies. Get a disc cleaning kit. They’re cheap and designed for this exact purpose.

First, hold the disc by the edges and use a soft, lint-free cloth. Gently wipe from the center to the edges in straight lines. Never use circular motions!
