Tried this myself. No luck without an adapter. The two systems just don't talk the same language.

No can do, buddy. You'll need an adapter. Each system has its own unique controller firmware.

Unfortunately, you can't directly connect an Xbox 360 controller to a PS4 without an adapter. They use different communication protocols.
