How to Construct a Silo in Stardew Valley
Actually, I think building a coop before a silo is the way to go. Yes, you need the silo for hay storage, but early egg production can really boost your income and food resources. Just my two cents!

Pro tip: Don't wait too long to build your silo! Get it early in the game to make feeding your animals a breeze. Every cut of grass becomes valuable hay once that silo's up. Makes winter less of a headache, trust me!
Building a silo in Stardew Valley is actually pretty straightforward! First, you need to make sure you've got enough resources: 100g, 100 stone, 10 clay, and 5 copper bars. Once you've got all of that, head over to Robin's Carpenter's Shop north of Pelican Town. Talk to Robin, and under the 'Construct farm buildings' option, you can choose the silo. She'll start building it the following day, and it'll be ready in no time. This handy structure stores up to 240 pieces of hay, automatically collected when you cut grass with your scythe.
