First, you need to defeat the boss Yagluth to unlock the Mistlands and get the carapace materials. Then, gather carapace from Gjall, Seekers, and other creatures in the Mistlands. Finally, head over to your workbench and craft away!

I've been playing Valheim for ages. Best way to craft carapace armor is to farm the Mistlands for carapace pieces and use a high-level workbench to make it. Good luck, fellow Viking!
