Sorry to burst your bubble, but you can't actually craft a Gold Chest in Terraria. These shiny containers are found in the wild, mostly deep underground or in the Dungeon. If you're on a treasure hunt, start exploring those caves and keep an eye out for traps!
No crafting here, but on a side note, if you want that gold aesthetic in your base, why not craft some gold furniture? Just grab some gold bars and head over to a workbench. Not exactly a chest, but hey, it's something!
