How to Delete a Facebook Messenger Account
You can't delete Messenger without deleting your Facebook account, but you can deactivate Messenger instead. Open Messenger, tap your profile picture in the upper left, tap 'Legal & Policies,' and then 'Deactivate Messenger.'

You can't delete Facebook Messenger but you can uninstall the app and ignore it.
If you want to keep using Facebook but stop using Messenger, just log out of Messenger. It's not quite a deletion, but it works!
