Heads up! Playing in 'seeds' mode (where you enter a specific seed to get a predetermined layout) also disables achievements.
Who needs achievements? Just dive into the mods and have fun. Trust me, turning achievements off is worth it for the cool mods.
Using the debug console to give yourself items or change the game state will also turn off achievements for that session.
