First, grab your trusty hammer and enter build mode. Then, select the mast from the miscellaneous tab in the building menu and just place it wherever you want! Easy peasy.

You simply equip your hammer, press F to bring up the building menu, choose the mast, and then click to place it. Just make sure you have enough resources.

You don't 'drop' a mast in Valheim; you build it! Grab a hammer, hit F, select misc, then the mast, and place it. Simple as that.
