Dropping a Pal in Palworld is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of the game controls. Just open your inventory, select the Pal you wanna drop, and there should be an option to 'Release' or 'Drop' the Pal right there. Make sure you really wanna say bye to your buddy, though!
