Remove the controller's back cover and check for any loose wires or debris inside. You might need a Torx screwdriver for this.

First, turn off and unplug your Xbox One controller. Then gently pry open the casing using a small screwdriver and clean around the joystick with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. Make sure to reassemble it carefully!

Sometimes the problem is just dust! Try blowing compressed air around the joystick to clear out any debris. If that doesn't work, you might need to replace the joystick module鈥攁 bit more advanced but doable with tutorials online.

First, clean around the base of the joystick with a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol. This can fix minor drift and stickiness.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
