Hot take: Just buy a new launcher. They're not that expensive, and it's way less hassle than trying to fix it.

I had to fix my kid's launcher last month. Found out the problem wasn't just the rubber band but also a tiny piece of plastic that got jammed inside. After removing that, and replacing the band, it worked like new again. Just goes to show, sometimes it's the small things messing up the works.

Fixing a Hot Wheels rubber band launcher usually involves a simple swap of the old, stretched-out rubber band for a new one. Just make sure you get the right size and thickness to match the original for the best performance. If the launcher's mechanism is stuck or broken, a bit of lubricant (like WD-40) can work wonders. Just apply a small amount and work the mechanism back and forth to get it moving smoothly again.
