How to Fix 'Out of Range' Monitor on Xbox Series S?
Had the same problem. Connected the Series S to a different TV, changed the resolution to 1080p first, then hooked it back up to my monitor. Worked like a charm!

Ugh, the 'Out of Range' error is the worst! To fix it, start by rebooting your Xbox Series S in low-resolution mode. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off, then press and hold the power button and the eject button until you hear two beeps. This should boot it up in low-res mode. Once it's on, head to Settings > General > TV & display options and adjust the resolution to something that works with your monitor.
Just get a better monitor that supports the resolutions and refresh rates the Xbox Series S outputs. Problem solved!
