Disable any third-party overlays, like Discord or GeForce Experience. They can sometimes interfere with the game starting up.
Make sure your game and graphics drivers are all up to date! If that doesn't work, try running the game in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows.
I had this issue once and fixed it by simply running the game as an administrator. Right-click the game icon and select 'Run as administrator'.
