Look, sometimes you just need to take the controller apart. If you're comfortable with that, clean the internal mechanisms, and it'll be good as new. YouTube tutorials can help!
Try using compressed air to blow out any debris stuck in the trigger. Worked like a charm for me!
If it's still under warranty, contact Xbox support and get a replacement. Why fix it yourself when you can get a new one?
