Just keep upgrading existing pickaxes at the Forge with more materials. Higher-tier materials mean more durability and effectiveness—pretty straightforward!
For the quickest upgrade, go for the Iron Pickaxe. You’ll need to sail to the Swamp biome and raid some Crypts for Scrap Iron. Smelt it and craft away!
Honestly, the Antler Pickaxe can last a good while. Focus on armor and weapons first. Just my two cents.
