To get a furnace in Valheim, you need to start by defeating the first boss, Eikthyr, to unlock the hard antler. Use the hard antler to craft an antler pickaxe, then mine some copper and tin. Finally, combine them to create bronze and craft the smelter. Voilà, you're in the furnace business!

Honestly, the fastest way is just to find Eikthyr and beat him up. That gets you the pickaxe, then it's all downhill from there with copper and tin mining!

First, slay Eikthyr to get the antler pickaxe. Then, mine for copper and tin in the Black Forest. With those materials, craft a forge and smelter. Boom, furnace acquired.
