To get a Cuddlefish in Subnautica, look for the Cuddlefish eggs! You’ll find them in the Dunes, the Deep Grand Reef, the Northwestern Mushroom Forest, the Lost River, and the Sea Treader's Path. Bring the eggs back to your alien containment unit and hatch them to get your adorable aquatic buddy!

You’ll need to find a Cuddlefish egg first! Check out the Dunes, Mushroom Forest, or Sea Treader's Path. Once you’ve got an egg, hatch it in an alien containment unit, and boom—Cuddlefish pal acquired!

As someone who spent way too much time hunting these cuties, I recommend hunting for Cuddlefish eggs around the Northwestern Mushroom Forest. Hatch it in your base’s alien containment, and you'll have the best underwater companion!

Honestly? Just grab a Cuddlefish egg from the Lost River, bring it back to your base, and hatch it. Easy peasy.
