In Splatoon 2, you can't really 'get rid' of old gear, but you can choose not to use it. Just head to Murch near the Inkopolis Square terminal, and he can scrub slots or add abilities, making even old gear feel new again!

Just ignore the old stuff! You can't delete gear, but you can always buy new, cooler stuff with in-game currency.
