Follow your compass to the coordinates: about 1k meters west of your starting life pod. Look for a massive island with a huge alien structure. Happy diving!
Go west from the life pod, about 1200 meters. You'll see a big honkin' gun on the island. Bring snacks.
Gun Island is at the Mountain biome, west of Lifepod 5. You'll run into it eventually if you keep heading in that direction.
Google 'Subnautica Gun Island coordinates' and use your compass. Boom, there you go.
