Just keep swimming in any direction away from the Aurora until you reach the edge of the world. You'll hit the Dead Zone when you see the drop-off.

Head to the edges of the map and keep going! You'll know you're there when it gets really dark and the ghost leviathans start showing up. Good luck!

From my experience, the Dead Zone is at the edge of the map, beyond the safe shallows and kelp forests. It’s pretty spooky out there, so prep accordingly!
