Nope, you can't gift gems in ASTD. Best way to help a buddy is to trade units or carry them through tough stages.
Sorry, but there's no way to transfer gems. Focus on grinding together and you'll both have plenty!
Honestly, the game doesn't allow gem giveaways. Just help your friend earn them through co-op missions!
